magic-chef Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I have a 3D object that has one face at an angle. I would like to view the object so that a new XY plane is oriented on the sloped face (I know how to do that) and the plane of the face is parallel to the screen. I would be looking at the face from a position normal to the plane of the face. Make sense? Quote
ReMark Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 UCS toolbar, Face option. Or type UCS at the command line and select the Face option. Or UCS 3-point option. Any number of ways. Quote
magic-chef Posted August 1, 2008 Author Posted August 1, 2008 Thanks, for the suggestion. Perhaps I did not state my question properly. I can get the UCS in line. What I want is to view the face (plane) from directly above. Not from an angle. Does this explanation help? Quote
JD Mather Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 View>3D Views>Plan View>Current UCS you can save it with a name if you will be returning often. Quote
magic-chef Posted August 2, 2008 Author Posted August 2, 2008 That was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks! Quote
khama Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 you can also set your 3 point UCS to the plane and go to top view.. That simple... Quote
