Stolen Laptop - what to do about the License???

Well we have a new PM that got let go because of constant absences. We couriered over his personal things and wanted him to send the Laptop back, but of course we have to severe ties with it because he's not going to give it up.

This laptop has AutoCAD LT 2009 installed on it and was wondering do I need to call Autodesk and give them the heads up and get a new license number or anything? Thanks in advance for the input.

I'd think it would be a wise decision. You never know what can happen.

If the laptop belongs to the company then he has to return it. If he doesn't, follow the proper legal procedures to get it back.

Like everyone said, it's the companies. I think if he wants to keep it, AutoDesk should know that your Laptop was stolen and I'm pretty sure they can handle it properly.

if not, you can kill the number among other things. It used to cost $100 to do it, but it may be ore now.

We did not get it back but Autodesk took care of everything through our reseller.
