xref trouble

Help Im working on a job with lots of xrefs all of a suden they are taking ages to load up my GA is taking for ever to load. and cutting and pasting betwwen drawings is also taking ages ? any ideas.

Have you reset the scale list in each drawing?

You may need to purge regapps and layer filters out of each drawing.

Ah im having trouble re seting the scale list in a lot of these drawings, I get an error message and it wont re-edit? I have purged everything dont know what regapps are?

Also if you have time, running an audit on those Xrefs will help clear out a bunch of trash they may have been acclimating.

Use the command line version of PURGE (-purge) than hit R for regapps

If you are having trouble resetting your scale list try this :

-scalelistedit

This will solve the error message you get when you try to reset your scale list.

If you are having trouble with the x-refs....before closing the drawing unload them and save. You will not loose them, but when opening the drawing next time it may speed up the process.
