rossuwp00 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Hi all. I am a new member here, and fairly new user to AutoCAD lt. (I was trained initially on AutoCAD 2000, a long time ago). In anycase, my current job requires me to use xref frequently, to load terrain vission documents of our area and work with them as base templates. The problem is, it appears that Lt doesn't have any write ability for xref. Does anyone around here know of a work around? I would be very greatful, and so would my bosses. Thanks and have a great day. (Sadly, I think I already know the answer to this.) Quote
tzframpton Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 What do you mean by "write ability"? Are you meaning "editable"? Quote
rossuwp00 Posted August 21, 2008 Author Posted August 21, 2008 Sorry, I do mean editable. I want to upload a .tiff file, to do my drawings on. However, the only way I can view the .tiff files on AutoCAD 2008 LT, is if my bosses (AutoCAD 2008) actually do the xref themselves, and then send me the file to start working on. I hope this helps. Thanks:) Quote
tzframpton Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 AutoCAD LT cannot XREF a TIFF. It can however see an XREF'ed TIFF that has been done by a full version. Just the way it has to be. Sorry, that's one of the many limitations of LT. Quote
rossuwp00 Posted August 21, 2008 Author Posted August 21, 2008 Yup, that's what I thought. Well, thanks for your time StykFacE. Quote
tzframpton Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Glad to clear things up, sorry I couldn't offer a solution for ya. Quote
