rams0b Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Hi there. I am developing a Disaster Management System. One of its requirement is to read the 3D DWG files and show them to users in 3D. So user will be able to enable/disable different layers on drawing, Zoom, Pan, and rotate drawing in different angles (up,down, left right) to see buildings in different angles. But my question here is related to AutoCAD. Does autocad 2008 gives Drawing rotatation on different angles. here i dont mean conventional rotation. Can we move 3D drawnings in AutoCAD in different angles .. like if we want to see the back doors of building, can we rotate to back side.? thanks in advance Rizwan Quote
rams0b Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 thanks for your response. I am sorry but i am new to AutoCAD. what is 3DOrbit? is it some tool inside AutoCAD or seperate software? Quote
papagyi Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 "3dorbit" is autocad build in command. You can type "3do" in command line. Then right clink on any drawing space and change to free orbit. After that you will see orbit circle and you can rotate with drag on circle. Here is how to use this http://www.dailyautocad.com/autocad/interactive-viewing-of-objects-in-3d-with-3dorbit-command Quote
Cad64 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Or use the VIEW command to choose from various pre-defined views such as Front, Back, Top, etc. I have moved your question to the "3D Modeling & Rendering" section. Quote
Noahma Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 you can also place cameras at the different areas to see stuff from a more human prespective. Quote
rams0b Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 Thank you all for your help. 3DO works for me that was what i was looking for. Quote
rams0b Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 Is there any SDK for dot NET you know that provides such functionality of viewing DWG and 3DOrbit? Quote
