pat Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I downloaded Autocad 2008 using student download and it showed everything working fine but it is no where on my computer. I did this the 1st time and no software (after several hours of downloading). Then I tried 2009 but it was an incomplete install with no tools. I want 2008 so I uninstalled 2009 and downloaded again 2008, several hours, all looks well, says its complete----no software to be found! All the periphery software (viewer, student download etc) shows up but not 2008. Any ideas of what is happening? Quote
ReMark Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Where are you downloading AutoCAD from? Have you tried contacting the site administrator? Is this an educational version? Quote
pat Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 It is the student version, I have emailed the forum but not gotten an answer yet. I'm spoken to the activation administrator who basically said to try it again. That's when I uninstalled 2009 and downloaded 2008 again. There is no technical help for the free student version. I downloaded it from the autodesk site Quote
pat Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 I looked in all program files, I did a search on my hard drive ???? Quote
pat Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 Also, the other software that I downloaded along with the install instructions shows up with an icon in program files, 2009 although it was an incomplete install (and not the version I wanted) put a shortcut icon on the desktop. Although it said the install was successful, all indications are that it was not. Quote
