TomC Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Our company has installed AutoCAD 2009 Full & LT versions on the computers. When we print a drawing in A3 size for checking (but to be printed in A1 when issued) not created in 2009 but our previous version AutoCAD 2004 it cuts off the drawing number / job number details and any other information near the edge of the drawing but will print the 'border' of the drg - the print preview in AutoCAD shows all the information ie non cut off but the print preview option our printer uses shows the 'cut off' preview. When printed in A1 size all ok - anybody come across this problem before - I think it may be scaling option in the plotting area but may be wrong. Any help appreciated. Quote
ReMark Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Are you plotting to a particular scale or to fit? Are you plotting directly from model space or from a layout? Quote
TomC Posted September 5, 2008 Author Posted September 5, 2008 It happens when we plot from either paperspace & modelspace - we do not plot 'scale to fit' but 1:2 as A3 is half the size of A1 in paperspace of 1:100 generally in modelspace. (1:50 for issued A1) Quote
nocturne00 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Have you checked if the drawing is outside the Printable space? coz if so you may want to modify the A3 paper's printable area on the printer properties Quote
GE13579 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Try plotting extents with fit to paper and centre the plot boxes checked- this should narrow down where the problem lies? Quote
TomC Posted September 5, 2008 Author Posted September 5, 2008 The plot area selected is not outside the allowable print area as the border to the A3 drg plotted is printed but any information adjacent to this border (approx 5mm measured inside this border on the A3 hardcopy) is cut-off. Will try the suggestions posted to see if i can trace the problem. Any other suggestions welcomed. Cheers guys. Quote
GE13579 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 So you have information within 10mm of the border on the A1 drawing? Is it possible to post scans of the drawings? If not all then just the corners? Quote
TomC Posted September 5, 2008 Author Posted September 5, 2008 Makes sense as requested to scan drgs and add to post to indicate what the problem is - will not be able to do this till Tues so will add scans then. Have a nice w/end all - thanks for the replies. Quote
Strix Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 are you plotting your A1s on the same plotter as the A3s? is the origin set at 0,0 for both plots? check the Windows print settings for printer margins Quote
