What Version?

I have a client sending me .ipt and .iam files, and i am using a program called SpaceClaim to open these files ( dont have any other program to do so). SpaceClaim only opens .iam files from inventor versions 11 and 12. How can you tell which version my client is using? Thanks.

You can download a free viewer from autodesk inventor website, or it maybe on the autodesk labs website, this way you can view verything. As for what version they have send you, you will have to ask them what it is, I would suggest you just download the free viewer.

would i be able to convert to step files using the viewer? thats what im trying to do and thats why im using the SpaceClaim program. Its working with the parts, but not the .iam files.

well i downloaded the reviewer program and it says that it does not support .ipt or .iam files???? any other ways i can view and convert these files? thanks.

Can only view them you cannot convert them to Step.
