how to make standards for checkstandards

Hi all. My boss is having us learn new things about auto cad 09 so we can use it more efficiently. Were going through and finding commands that might be useful if used correctly. This command looks like it might be useful but i cant figure out how to make the standards file with our standards. any auggestions?

In the most basic sense, just get a hold of your template file, (ensuring it contains everything that you wish to be standardised) and save it as a standards file.
