b.muqlueen Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Hows it going. I am having a problem with a background. I have the contract or mechanical dwg. It has the architects backround on it. I am trying to isolate the layers on it. I keep accounting problems any way i try to solve it. The original has many xrefs. So i go to etransmit it. so i can have a second file of my own. When i go to open the file that etransmitted so that i can start freezing un needed layers. i get a message that says-cannot find the specified drawing file. Please verify that the network drive is available and the file exists. ok next try. i try to bind the xref, as to freeze the layers after i save it under a different file name. the drawing dissapears. any ideas? kwortman Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 You may have already tried this: Save the drawing as a different name (for your own). Open the new drawing and make sure all of the xrefs are found and loaded. From there, bind each xref one at a time. Etransmit is very picky about xrefs (i usually try to stay away from it). You may want freeze the layers before you bind the xrefs. Hope this was helpful. Quote
asos2000 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Try to purge the DWG before binding. Quote
