I was just attempting to hide the unnecessary wire frame lines on my very first surface model :D.

It didn't quite go to plan tho as it appeared to erase lines at random regardless or whether they were part of the faces I created or not.

After faffing about with the visual styles for a while and searching this forum I finally realized the problem was due to with the zoom been a bit near .

Just wondering if there is a setting I can change so it always shows right no matter what the zoom or is this a feature of my pc graphics I cannot do anything about. I find this happens in Photoshop 2.

im not sure about the answer to your question but when i am modeling surfaces i do one of two things. I setup two layers(or however many you need) before starting the work. One ill call construction lines or something like that. Draw your construction lines with this layer being active. When you go to model the surface using these lines switch to another layer first. That way you can just turn off your construction lines.

If you already have a drawing you can do the same thing but create a surface layer and turn it off. Then select your surfaces(one at a time i would suggest) and move them to your surface layer using the properties.

I usually end up with 5 or 6 different layers of surface models where i will copy over my construction line to a new layer and modify something. This way i have previous itterations. At the end i delete what isnt needed.

It seems to work fine so long as Im not in a single view port but I see what you mean about the layers and never thought of that. Been a newbie im following along with a tutorial.
