Hello everyone! I'm hoping someone can help me :) I am currently using AutoCad 2009 and I do consulting work for a firm that uses 2007. The problem I am having is when I use the text command it comes up completely different on my computer than theirs. The text will not align, etc. I have even taken their text copied and pasted to use for my drawings. I downloaded today an update for 2009 I thought that would take care of it but it didn't. Please look at my sample pdf from the firm I am working with.

Thank you

This sounds like something in your options. You should put up a sample dwg so people can play with it. I can try to figure out whats going on if you let me look at the file or a sample file.

The problem is when I have thier file pulled up on my screen everything is perfectly aligned, it is only when they pull it up on their screen and print on their plotter. Mine is all working fine, I can print or save to pdf and everything is aligned.

Any chance that the text is annotative? Just a thought.

No, it's not. Thanks though. It is so frustrating because I can print everything out at my office look it over then when they get it the text is a mess!

Was there any solution to this yet. i am having the same problem in our office. I am using 2009 and the rest of the stations are still working on 2007.

On my screen the text looks (printing fine) but when they open the file on 2007 the text is not aligned no more and is all over the place (Printing not aligned text).

Please let me know what i can do to fix this.

Thanks

are you getting a 'proxy graphics' message when you open the drawing?

it can be caused by a machine not having a text file loaded, and autocad automatically substituting something similar in its place

I had this problem a few years ago when editing in vanilla some dwgs produced in a bespoke elec package. All the origins for the text had moved, and the text width was shot to pieces too

Any chance the text styles in 09 now include a setting that determines the default alignment of all text assigned that style....so when you past in text, that may be defined as "standard" its being assigned that property of its text style???

I'm only on 07 - pure conjecture.

Please post the resolution when acquired, though, please.

well that was certainly the solution for another user recently

Is this with all text or with multileaders?

i had this problem at one point and had to revert back to using dim leaders instead.

It looks like the only text that goes crazy is the Mtext in the drawing. The Text stays where its supposed to. I dont have any Multileaders in the drawings we use the Qleader and Mtxt.

Wannabe i am not sure what you mean with "Please post the resolution when acquired, though, please".

How do i find out if 2009 does the automatic alignment?

Thanks for the replies so far. Hope we can figure this out.

I may should add, that we dont get the 'proxy graphics' message. So we are not missing any text files.
