Viz 2008 text...help!

I've recently moved onto viz 2008 and have tried to use the text command, i keep getting text displayed like it is just an edge or sweep along the profile.
I just want flat plain text using the different fonts.
Does any oen know how to get just flat text? :unsure:

You might want to get yourself a book. Check your local library, book store or Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=viz&x=7&y=18).

Be aware though. Viz is no longer available for purchase. Development has been transferred to 3DS Max Design (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=4221521).
