If I insert a table from excel into an AutoCAD 2008 drawing, can i link the two so my table will update automatically if i change any data in the excel spreadsheet

when you go to insert it..there should be somewhere you can click in that dialog box that says "link"...if you check that it should work....im going off of memory

What exactly does OLE Object do?

For object linking and embedding. An information-sharing method in which data from a source document can be linked to or embedded in a destination document. Selecting the data in the destination document opens the source application so that the data can be edited. See also embed and link.

straight from autocad help....just search for ole objects..that should get you started
