Bill Tillman Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Please excuse me while I whip this out.... Up until now I have used AutoCAD for 2D drawings and only dabbled in an occassional foray of the 3D world. I understand the Z axis and what it's all about in changing UCS's, but last week I started digging deep into the 3D methods. And you know what I found...the folks who write the tutorials make a tremendous amount of typos and mistakes in their instructions. I just read a tutorial which showed what a line looks like when viewed from the SE isometric view. But the authors instructions directed us poor shmucks to choose the SW isometric view. It took me a few minutes to figure out why my view was so much different than the one shown on the webpage. And I recently purchased the Sybex copy of "Mastering AutoCAD 2009". I have found no less than 6 typos and mistakes in the damn thing so far, very similar to the one above, where the author clearly indicates one thing but then in another sentence tells you the opposite or something completely bass-akwards. So when people get upset when being told to RTFM, don't be so quick to write them off. There is a reason for the "F" in that anacronym. Quote

Tiger Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Think like this; when ou encounter the typos and have to spend an extra ten minuntes figuring out what is wrong and what the author actually means - you'll learn so much more of AutoCAD. Not saying it's right, I'm pretty fanatical about using correct words and spelling (don't hold this against me when I write here though, I'm on my break okaaay!!), but like the man said, Always look on the bright side of life Quote
