BenE Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Ok, so I know this has been asked before...even asked today, but I haven't been able to find all the info I'm looking for. I have been working on CAD for about 7 months, and am in charge of setting up my Division's CAD Standards. I've created the CTB, Text Styles, MLeader Styles, Plot Styles, etc., and I need to make this all work on 10 users computers. I have created a .dwt for them to open with all these settings in it, but need to know 1) Which files do their computers need to see (i.e. .pmp or .arg files) 2) the simplest way to get their computers to load the standards from the network. Thanks, -Ben Quote

Thanks, -Ben Have you checked out CAD Standards on the Tools menu (in vanilla AutoCAD it's there). It's been a while since I've gone down this road but you could set up a 'standards' file. Check out .dws Maybe someone who's more up to speed with this could help more....but it's a start anyway Quote
BenE Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 Yes, I have. Unfortunately, I don't get to use that method. We have several users here who are relatively little experience with CAD, and I am to use a template to minimize straying from the standard. I just don't know all of the files that I need to make available on the server beyond the .dwt and a couple others. Quote
nocturne00 Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 The template is already a good start. also block libraries found on a server computer for everyone on your team network to access would come very handy. is the dwt file preloaded with all standard layers, styles, etc? Quote
e.mounir Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 hi Put the dwt files on the in the separate directory of this project on the server with plot style and plot configuration …etc Then from tools menu -> option -> files -> drawing template file location -> Put the path of this directory Then from profiles -> export the file i.e. project.org and all users can used it from tools -> option -> profiles -> import -> project.org now when make new file you will see your template file. If you want to make check files you can save as the template file as .dws file and from batch standers checker You can check for all drawing Finally I hope that’s help you Quote
BenE Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 Thanks for all the help guys. nocturne00: Yes, the dwt has all the styles, layers, etc. I have also got block libraries and toolbars with blocks. I'd like for all of this to load when one of the other users opens the program. e.mounir: So are you saying that if the user loads the correct profile, all of the associated files that keep the styles, cui info, etc., will load to their computers? e.mounir Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Hi bene I’m sorry to retardation because I take tow days as vacation Yes if you load the profile others computer will used the same template file Quote
