Cursor grabs data and slows down

Of late in Map 2009 when I move my mouse across the screen it seems to slow down and grab onto / "magnet to" data as i move over it. I havn't changed any settings so it just seems odd why its slowing down all of a sudden. The files i have are quite small and it becomes quite frustrating when i get slowed down so much. I have the tried updating my nvidia drivers but it hasn't helped.

Is there an obvious setting i could check?

when i have an unexploded dwg attached the cursor slows down even more when i move it over the block also
