nickserbu Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 i am working on a customers dwg they sent me, it is 10 mb and it is extremely hard to work with. It seems as if they drew the entire thing using blocks and for some reason i can't even explode them to modify. when i do the entire block disappears. does anyone have any idea? Quote
Tankman Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Can you PURGE the file? Compare the older file with the file that you used the PURGE command on. How many bytes did you save? Quote
CarlB Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Sounds like it was created with Architedural Desktop. You might also try the "-purge" command (command line version), so you can purge Registered Applications. Quote
ReMark Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Exploded blocks may be "disappearing" to layers that are frozen or off. Quote
BIGAL Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 try wblock or aecexporttoautocad both these commands remove proxy objects and drawings can go from 10mb to 1mb or less But be warned you may need some proxy objects. Quote
