mshearer Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I'm trying to open some ACAD files (ACAD 2008) and the only result I've gotten is to have AutoCad freeze up on me. I've asked some other people in the office to try and they experience the same thing. I've tried to open using a recover and still...nothing. I can't even get these files to open through REFERENCE MANAGER, they just freeze it up. Any suggestions out there? Quote
ReMark Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 When did the problem first occur? Up to this point had AutoCAD 2008 been operating normally? Quote
ReMark Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Have you tried a Repair or a reinstall? I know there is an Open Close Save Hotfix for AutoCAD 2009 at the AutoDesk website but I did not see one for 2008. Quote
mshearer Posted December 8, 2008 Author Posted December 8, 2008 After struggling with this one earlier today, I was finally able to open the file after going through Reference Manager to resolve all the broken references. After doing this, the file opened without problem. Apparently, having 15+ broken xreferences was enough to completely stump either ACAD or my machine. Quote
