chad740 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Is there a way to link Excel cells to a Linear Dimension in cad? I use Excel as a Bill of Material and fill in material to it can calc. weights and track material. It would be nice if I could link a cell to a linear Dim so if the length changes in a DWG it will update in Excel? Quote
dbroada Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I don't know but you may be able to datalink your excel sheet into the drawing. In the resultant table you may be able to insert a field and link that to the selected dimension. Using a datalink a change in dimension should trigger an out of sync event and allow you to write the table contents back to the spreadsheet. I don't have AutoCAD here so I'll let you experiment.
