john1983 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 hello please can someone help me this problem is doing my tree in. When rendering my drawings in autocad 2009 using a distant light I get these glow marks in the corners, som.times its under the furniture too, I have changed the sun settings and render settings to the how Lazarus does his drawings ( i found them on a post he put on a while ago, His renders are amazing!!) and i cant get my drawings any where near as good as his but Im determined to get my drawings as realistic as I can. Any help would be fantastic Thanks in advance John Quote
ReMark Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Maybe the housings for your ceiling lights are translucent enough for light to leak through? Quote
shift1313 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 maybe im seeing things but they look like some are white and some are red. Turn off all your interior lights and render the scene with just your sunlight and see if they are still there. What material is on your binders on the bookshelf? is it possible its reflective? Other than that id say you have a small gap between your wall/ceiling Quote
john1983 Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 Hi Shift Ive turned all the interior lights before because I thought it would be that and the glow marks still appear. I made the material myself on the binders i made them matt red because i thought they would reflect. I did a render of a room with nothing in it and the walls, ceiling and floor all joined together using the UNION command and i still get these damn glow marks. Ill keep trying different settings Quote
Lazarus Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Hello John,i would recommend yuo have a look at this link: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=10175110&linkID=9241175 At the bottom of the page download the 3DS MAX 2008 online tutorials...basicly it's a help file with very useful max tutorials...in there is a section Lighting and Rendering>Rendering with Mental Ray:Final Gather and Global Illumination. I think that it has the best explanation of this things.Read through it, it's gonna help you understand FG and GI very well. Quote
john1983 Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 brilliant Lazarus thank you, i will have a read through it and see how i get on, do you think i should 3dmax? Quote
Lazarus Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 No, But 3Ds max and AutoCAD use the Mental Ray render engine,so basicly almost all the parameters wich you need to tweak are the same. Quote
