Why is it that when I render it to file, it doesn't look as good?

This is the image when I rendered it to Viewport.

Now this is the image when I rendered it to File.

PoorQuality.jpg

As you can see, if I rendered it to file, it doesn't look as good as when I'm viewing it in autoCAD. I plan to print it and show it to someone so I want it to look nice and smooth.

Help pls? Thanks!

what command did you use to output that image? im not sure for cad2002 but try the command saveimg then use the JPG format after you've rendered the window, it has a better resolution than bmp format

When you render to file or render to a render window, then save there are options. The file type you choose will dictate the quality of the output file. Postscript(if its listed on yours) is .eps.

I think your render window is similar to the one i posted below. click on more options below file destination, and you will have options for tile type and colors. see if changing those options helps you out. my guess is your files are .bmp

...allows one to save in the jpg format, all I see is bmp, pcx, postscript, tga, and tiff. I've tried every one of them, tga looks the least rough.
