Hi,

Does anyone know what I should be doing to make my component bigger on this template?

Am I correct in thinking explode will do it? Everytime I select some of the objects it says objects cannot be selected. Something is going wrong? :(

Quick point - I don't want to change the dimensions of anything on my drawing just expand the component much like using the zoom command.

Thanks

EXPLODE disassociates associated objects, like segments in a polyline or components in a block. I generally recommend you avoid using it whenever possible. Explode will not enlarge the drawing like you want either. It appears as if you're trying to get it to fill the page better. Are you using paperspace? The best way I've found to present your drawings is to draw full scale in model space, then create a title block in your layout. Anything created in paperspace should be created at the size you want it to plot at. Once you have your title block set up create a VIEWPORT. Viewports act like a window into modelspace. You can set the viewport to display at a set size either from the properties palette or the status bar. For more information, check out this tutorial.

Burst seems to work alot better then explode. But thats only if the object is a block.

Idk if that helps you with your problem or not. haha

What you want to change, is the scale. Like said above, use viewport in paperspace (which you probably already are) and use the Viewport Scale Control. Everything you need is located in the Viewports Toolbar (including the scale control).

I think I should have drawn my template in paperspace. I have drawn it in model space. I will try after xmas drawing it in paperspace.

I used a viewport once before but I can't exactly remember how to use it. Will report back.

Thanks for your help
