Joller Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Hello, does anyone know the command that automatically clips lines that run through text on 2D drawings? for example (before and after) Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Select the text and turn on background mask under Properties, set the color to background. Quote
Joller Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 forgot to mention im in autocad LT 2005, theres no background mask in properties Quote
lpseifert Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 If it isn't a problem trimming the lines, you can use the text as the trim boundary. Quote
totzky Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I attached a drawing that makes use of hatching to clip lines. The hatch is a no plot entity and works like the textmasking in full autocad editions. Another alternative for you is the use of "draworder" to bring the text in front of the lines. BTW: I used "draworder" too on the first alternative. hatch hide.dwg Quote
Brooklyn Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 What about the Break command? Is that command recognized in LT 2005? Quote
sumeetppatel Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 use trim command. type trim enter enter. select the line along the first alphabet. now that the line is separated into two, u can simply press esc. select the line that crosses the alphabets, and erase it. Quote
