MY company has recently upgraded to Autocad 2009 from Autocad 2008. We have started using 3D images in our drawings for better visualization.

I have encountered a problem that I have no idea how to fix or what causes it. I had made a drawing ( in Acad 2008 ) that when the dwg was plotted the 3D view had everything correctly hidden. However, since i have started using Acad 2009 on it this view doesn't print correctly. Some of the shapes that should be hidden are bleeding thru.

I'm attaching a picture of the 3D plot with the trouble areas outlined in Red. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks

Have all service packs been installed?

Posted

Unfortunately none of the sevice packs have been installed. Our IT department only installed the software. We are submitting a case to them to have the service packs installed but no idea when they will have time to install them.

Do you think the service packs will solve this?

Thanks for the help.

I looked at the link and tried making adjustments but it didn't change anything. I can't figure out why one flat surface is bleeding thru the other flat surface. This issue is the only thing preventing me from finishing a project that i'm working on and it's getting aggravating. I've been Drafting for 20 years and I hate having my work look crappy.

Maybe once IT works it into their busy schedule to install the service packs this will be cured.

You might try the HIDEPRECISION variable. If you set it to 1, it may print better.

And that's why God created the CAD Manager for times when IT relagates your department to the bottom of the pile. Tell IT to go pound sand and load the service packs yourself. Your company is paying you to be productive. If IT can't or won't help then its time to become more self-sufficient.
