Fire Alarm Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I looked on the site, and could not find this subject. Hopefully I am not repeating it. I am trying to figure out how to line the layout tabs with my title block. I have seen it done before, but do not know how to do it. What happens is when they are linked, I can change the layout tab for example to FA-1.0 & it would change a link in the title block. Can anyone help? Thanks, Andrew Quote

Fire Alarm Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Thanks, after I posted the question, I did some digging around and found the fields. Since I'm using AutoCAD MEP which has some differences, I found the CTAB field. Quote
tzframpton Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Thanks, after I posted the question, I did some digging around and found the fields. Since I'm using AutoCAD MEP which has some differences, I found the CTAB field. The CTAB Field doesn't reflect what you edit the Layout Tab as, it only reflects the field edited in the drawing. So you'll have to edit the Titleblock, not the Layout Tab. Just FYI is all. Quote
Fire Alarm Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Here is what I did: - Typed in Field command - Went to SystemVariable - Scrolled down to CTAB and selected it CTAB shows me what the current layout tab is. So, when I inserted that field it came in as Layout1. Then I renamed it to FA-1.0 and regenerated, and the field changed. This was basically what I was looking for. It was just to rename the tab. I wanted to combine 2 steps into 1. With this I can rename the layout and my title block at the same time. Quote

I was backwards on my 1st post here, I meant the Layout Tab is where you want to edit your changes - that's where the Field reflects. Sorry about that..... Quote
