anandxxx Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 What's up. For some reason, when I try to redefine a certain block in ACAD 2005 LT (by changing a line color), it doesn't work. I can explode the block, change it, and save it to another name, and it works perfectly. But when I try to save it to the existing name to redefine it, it reverts back to the previous line color AND the base point gets messed up, as well. Does anybody know what the problem might be? Is there some way to 'lock' blocks? Thanks in advance. Quote
Strix Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 it may be that the method for changing blocks changed with 2006 open the drawing file for the block and edit it there, then update the blocks in the drawing Quote
anandxxx Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 I don't think this is a block from a file, since I couldn't find the file. I think it's drawing-specific. Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Select your block, type BEDIT and edit it there then save when you cose the editor. Quote
anandxxx Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 ...Majoring in Medicine... I don't seem to have a BEDIT command. I'm using AutoCAD 2005 LT. Quote
Strix Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 does this work? http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16252 Quote
Dipali Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 edit block in place is not an option in LT. One way out would be wblock out that block in new drawing file & change it & redefine it using design centre in current drawing. but you can edit it in block editor & when you save & close it should redfine itself. & id there are attribute use 'attsync' Quote
