j2humphrey Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I am trying to make a surface for the 1st time. I was following instructions that say display the toolspace so that I can get to the prospects tab. When I type "showts", I get: There are currently no palettes to show in the Toolspace window. So, I cannot get to the prospector tab. Quote
j2humphrey Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 When I click on the icon for workspace settings, here are my choices: 2D drafting & annotation 3D modeling AutoCAD classic How do I get back into Civil 3D workspace? Quote
lpseifert Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Are you sure you're in Civil 3d or are you in Civil 3D as Autocad? Right click on the icon you used to start the program, Properties, Target. What does it say after /p (the profile switch)? Quote
j2humphrey Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Here is what it says in the properties under 'Target': "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009\acad.exe" /p "AutoCAD" Under 'Start in' it says: "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009\UserDataCache\" Ahaaa..... I discovered that I have a second icon that opens it up correctly! I deleted the one that opens it up in AutoCAD so that I won't have that trouble again! Thank you for your clues! Quote
lpseifert Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Try starting the program from (Windows) Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Autocad Civil 3D 2009 > Autocad Civil 3D 2009 (not Civil 3D as Autocad) (I have C3D 2008 so it may be a bit different) Quote
