njs500 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I'm looking to get my wife's autocad up and running again (long story short - I lost my her AutoCAD LT for windows 95 disk). She is just a casual user these days, mainly 2D drawings for our home improvement projects. However she is very proficient with the old program, so I'm not looking for something that would require a steep learning curve or mucho $$$, and should be able to read the old drawings. I understand there may be many free or low cost programs out there that may emulate the older autoCAD versions. Any recommondations? Thanks! Quote
ReMark Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 This must be repeat-a-thread-day. Didn't we already address this issue? Quote
njs500 Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 sorry if there is.....didn't know what keyword(s) would be the best to start a search w/o getting hundreds of false hits! edit: oh, er yes....actually you did respond to a thread I started in the other forum (autoCAD museum?) about the installation problem of a replacement copy of autoCAD95 I found ...but not to suggesting other alternatives. ReMark Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 My confusion...sorry. I suggest looking on eBay or on Craigslist. In my neck of the woods, about a month or six weeks ago, someone was selling LT 2005 for $150 which I thought was a steal. He had pics of the disk, manual and all the paperwork that came with it. Looked legit to me. That's the key - legit. If you do buy something off either of these two sites get the seller to agree if there is any problem loading and registering the software you get your money back. And don't buy pirated software or try downloading anything off of a warez site. Quote
