grain Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I need to a symbol of a two gang socket with the number two that stays upright regardless of the symbols rotation and is viewable on a specific layer. I successfully use the vp freeze option to control what layers can be viewed. (Must be in MS when selecting from layout tab or it wont work) Using the 'Block Definition' command I initially made a block using the number '2'. (The number has been set to stay upright regardless of rotation of accompanying symbol.) I produced a block from a symbol using the 'Write Block' command. The block has a number '2' nested within it, created using the 'Block. Definition' command. Problem I can view them in model space but only the symbol (not the '2') when in paper space. Both the symbol and the nested 2 are on the same layer. Quote
NBC Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 It sounds like the text of the number 2 has somehow been set to be annotative. To remove this function; select your block, type BEDIT at the commandline. Once the entities of your block are visible again; select the text number 2; go to the properties palette; and select Annotative, and set it to off. then type BSAVE, and BCLOSE at the commandline. then ATTSYNC your block; and it should be visible how you wish it to be. grain Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 One thing I didnt mention was that the block were set to explode upon insertion. The '2' opens up in the Block editor but the 'Annotive' is 'off' The ATTSYNC wouldnt select the '2' block Quote
RichterGMC Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Is the little light bulb in the lower right hand corner blue or yellow in paper space? If it's blue, annotative is off, when its yellow everything will show, regardless of annotative or not., try that Quote
grain Posted January 16, 2009 Author Posted January 16, 2009 God Bless You! Richter GMC thats the one. Thank you also NBC for your support. Its like trying to fly a spaceship. So many buttons not enough time to press them all. Quote
