SAM_R Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 In autocad 2008 I still have a command line running across the bottom of my drawing, but now one is showing up next to my cross hairs. Also when i draw a line the cross hairs show the angle. How do i get rid of these? Quote

dbroada Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 before getting rid of them, see how you get on. This is DYNamic input which I love. You get all the information you need right at the cusor without having to look down to the command line. Once you are used to it you can turn the command line off (F2 still works) to gain a little bit more screen space. If you do decide to remove the dynamic input probably the easiest way is to click the DYN box at the bottom of the screen. You can also use the options to customise the dynamic display. I have mine faded quite a lot from its original setting. Quote

And because some of my drawings get extremely 'busy' even with it being bold, it's sometimes hard to see what I'm typing, so I'll go back to using the command line. Quote
dbroada Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I rarely look at anything (except the keyboard itself) but every so often I will look at the screen and I like to have the infomation at the point I'm looking. I know it is not universally loved - I'm the only one in this office that uses it - so I don't get offended by those who don't. A pet peeve of mine with AutoDesk is that something will be released before its ready. You try it and realise it doesn't deliver so ignore it from then on. Somebody new to the office will say "why aren't you using ..........". When you try it again it is what it should have been and you have spent the last 3 years without it. Dynamic input has a few short-commings but on the whole I like the way it works. Quote

I'm usually willing to take the extra time to learn something new, as long as I can see in the long run that it will make my work more efficient. Hence why I usually try out suggestions from here on a regular basis. I will try and make a point of commenting on those that I like and don't like so it will help others make decisions too. Quote
