Hey all,

I am having a problem with the Express Arc Text Tool. We have several computers on our network and they are all loaded with 2004 Land Desktop. Some also have basic 2004 AutoCad. The issue is that on my computer I can create and manipulate Arc Text Entities. The computer next to me only presents a proxy image of the text and when we try to copy from another drawing and paste into the drawing we need (on the 2nd computer) it disappears. Any ideas on how to load Arc Text on the 2nd computer. It has the express tools loaded.:(

Have you tried initiating the command on the 2nd computer prior to loading that drawing? It sounds like the ARX file needed for ARCTEXT support is not loaded.

The other possibility is that LDT has a different tool that creates curved text. Could it be that this is what is showing up as a proxy?

What is the entity type name (use LIST)?

We have not tried running the command prior to opening the drawing but we did try to run the Arc Text command while the drawing was open. It made a new text string but did not update the old. I searched for all the .arx files and none specifically state they are the arc text file. When I list the text on the 1st maching this is what it says:

ARCALIGNEDTEXT Layer: "STAMP"

Space: Model space

Handle = 75F

Text Style: L100

Text Font: simplex.shx

Alignment: Fit

On the 2nd computer it lists:

ACAD_PROXY_ENTITY Layer: "STAMP"

Space: Model space

Handle = 75F

DXF name: ARCALIGNEDTEXT

Class name: AcDbArcAlignedText

Application name: ATEXT
