Is there a hatch or shading that is translucent in acad2006 that I can use. I could just leave it open and put som diagonal lines in there to show that it is glass, but I would rather show some kind of opaque look to it

Isn't there a glass "material" in 2006?

I just check AutoCAD 2004 and there are a handful of materials, such as blue glass, listed. So I would imagine 2006 has something similar.

Yes! As ReMark says, you can find it in the materials library in 2006: View - Render - Materials library. You can also arrive this way: View - Render - Materials - Modify. There you can change the "attributes" of the material you've chosen changing transparency, reflection, colour, etc.

By the way, you should choose "ray-tracing" in the Render-window.
