Hi,

I have AutoCAD 2006 full version and my properties window (Ctrl + 1) does not show me the properties of the object I click on, such dimensions, etc.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

I have already Pickfirst = 1

Are you sure you don't have 2 different types of objects selected? Double check the selection set dropdown at the top of the properties window. If it shows something along the lines of All (2) you have different item types. Expand the drop down and you can select the individual sets of lines, dimensions, text, etc., to edit.

Before I click on the object, it says "no selection" in the top of the properties window, but when I click on the object the top of the window is blank.

Hmm...thats a little diferent then. Have you already gone through an AUDIT and PURGE?

FILEDIA = 1 already set.

Double-clicking on the top of the Properties window gives me blank.

I have done Purge and Audit now on the file I have open. I also opened a new file and put one dimension, still nothing in the Properties window when I click on it.

I think you may need to resort to a repair of your AutoCAD installation unless anyone else has any ideas. If you decide to go that route make sure you save any customizations as they will be removed after the repair.

Try selecting everything, go EDIT > COPY WITH BEASE POINT

and use 0,0 as your base.

Open up a new drawing, EDIT > PASTE

type 0,0 for insertion,

Try selecting them then.

If that doesnt work then i'm stumped an would go with maxwells suggestion.

This is a common problem after a Registry Cleaner has been used. Assuming this is the case, repair AutoCAD and don't clean the registry, or if allowed, change setting on cleaner to ignore AutoCAD listing.

that's it - I knew I'd seen this behaviour reported before and had totally forgotten what caused it.

Sorry for the late reply,

I tried all, it does not work. The program installation has to be fixed, and it is a script installed from remote IT support. I am not sure what they can do.

Thanks
