chelsea1307 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Some how, i went from being able to select as many items as i wanted by just selecting them, to having to hold down the shift key to select more then one item. Any suggestions as to how to get back to the previous? Quote
CarlB Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Set PICKADD to 1. Probably happened from clicking on wrong box at top of Properties panel. Quote
GhostRider Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 That might be your PICKADD setting, you might want to take a look at this http://www.cadtutor.net/faq/questions/20/Problem+when+I+try+to+select+%7B47%7D+copy+%7B47%7D+move+objects Quote
chelsea1307 Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 thank you, good to know the fix, even better to know how i did it. Thanks Quote
ammobake Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 One thing you can try is this.. Under TOOLS>OPTIONS>SELECTION look under "selection modes" and uncheck "use shift to add to selection" Also... Sometimes files can get so big that you have to continuously "regen" in order for everything to look and act properly. Doesn't sound like the problem though. Did you recently install a new mouse or change any mouse settings? Mouse software that runs in the background (usually showing in the task bar in windows) can sometimes conflict with autocad. For example, when i got a new computer set up at home a few months ago my mouse software (open in the task bar) was preventing me from zooming with the mouse wheel in autocad. When i would close that mouse program running in the task bar, the mouse finally did what I wanted in autocad. It took me weeks to figure that out too. And I believe one of the problems I had was the problem you are having (having to hold shift to select multiple objects). Might not be the problem but.. you never know. If you haven't changed any settings in autocad you shouldn't be experiencing this new problem unless the cause is non-autocad related (for example the mouse driver software running in the task bar like i just talked about). As far as I know autocad doesn't spontaneously alter your settings/options. You can also check under TOOLS>OPTIONS>SYSTEM>CURRENT POINTING DEVICE just to make sure your input device is set up properly (which it probably already is) Hope I've helped a little bit anyway -ChriS Quote
