vweavers Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I needed to stretch an object in 1 axis only, maintaining the ratio throughout the other axis. I accomplished this by turning it into a BLOCK, and reinserting it, and stretching using one axis scale. Worked great. Problem is, after exploding and modifying it slightly further, I want to return it to a polyline. This is where the trouble is... The arcs will not convert to a polyline. If I use PEDIT, it won't let me select the arc! I have gotten around this thus far by simply creating a new arc in it's place, but if there's a simpler, faster way, I'd love to hear how! Thanks in advance! Vince Quote
michaeloureiro Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 you can make a dynamic block out of it... Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 If you have a closed area and want to turn it into a polyline or a region, try the BOUNDARY command. If you only want the outside profile of the linework, draw a rectangle around it to create a seperate bounding for it. Check the help entry and try it out. Quote

If your block happens to have an arc, and you stretch it on 1 axis by scaling non-uniformly, it will become an elliptical arc which cannot be turned into a polyline. Quote
totzky Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I suggest: you don't convert it into block and stretch right away avoiding this arc parts. e.g. a rectangle with 4 sides filleted can be stretched horizontally (even if ortho is off ) and it will still be a polyline. Quote
