qball Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 I'm trying to learn Architectural Desktop (finally). I'm pretty lost. I can make walls, and insert doors and windows. But I need to be able to change the layers and colours to suit my office. I also need storefront doors, windows with mullions, overhead doors with windows, reveals and indentations in the walls, 3/4" chamfers around windows...... I'm having a hard time figuring out all the different "styles" and how to make them what I want. Can someone link me a beginner ADT tutorial? Basically I need to make the 2d drawing shown below into 3d. (the grey lines are the reveals / indentations. Wall construction is concrete tilt-up panel) Quote
JD Mather Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 I have never used ADT, but I have used MDT. In MDT a rather good 700+ page book in pdf form is installed on the hard drive when installing the software. Search your hard drive for *.pdf files in the directory where ADT is installed. Quote

I think although you CAN change the layers and colours it is not advisable - layer keys and all that... doors and windows: you have a LOT of customising to do! You may like to buy 'Mastering Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007' and 'Accessing Architectural Desktop 2007' ... genuinely, very good luck... Quote

What you are asking us is very complex to attempt to type out. Paul Aubins books are the best out there for teaching you how to use the software. When you have questions past what the book explains, feel free to post in the ADT section of the forums, there are several people on the forums that know the software inside and out, and can give you some good help good luck, I LOVE ACA / ADT Quote
