PeteUK Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Randomly when I open the layer manager, I get a prompt reading: "The number of layer filters in this drawing exceeds the number of layers. Layer filters may have been created in error. It is recommended that you delete all layer filters to improve performance. Do you want to delete all layer filters now? Yes No" Can someone explain this to me? I've never had this before we got AutoCAD 2008. Thanks Quote
rkmcswain Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I'm not sure how to explain it any more than the message you quoted. Essentially you have more layer filters than you have layers. There is nothing wrong with that in general, but pre-2004 (I think), layer filters were carried from drawing to drawing like a virus so you could get tens of thousands of them in a drawing and things would slow down. Check the LAYERFILTERALERT system variable for more info. Quote
