I'm just wondering, based on the (new) option with AutoCAD 2009 that gives a home use ability, whether similar is available with regard to Inventor 2009?

If you have a subscription. But I'm thinking you do not and thus the reason for your question. Right?

ReMark is bang on, subscription is what they are talking about, they want more people to pay for subscription so they offer this.

You can still go old school and export the licence out to another computer (home)

Hmmm... who knows, it's all dealt with about 400 miles away... although I am chasing the question with them too. I don't know much about it at all- I only was aware of it courtesy of an old Michaels Corner from sometime last year, so thought I'd ask the question.

PS congrats on the (first ever?) Luminous Being! I've been struggling to find time to visit the forum for a while. :(

Is there a link explaining this? I'm sorry I don't really know too much- I leave that to our aforementioned CAD manager, who's miles away...

Welcome in :D

Thank you! :)

I'll let you know when I actually get started... right now I'm still only using Mechanical.

Inventor: Borrow a license. Straight from AutoDesk:

Being luminous does have one disadvanatge. I now find it difficult to sleep at night with a night light on.

Ah yes license borrowing is what we do with laptops when we go away, but I can't get it for my home laptop...

Nevertheless following your kind help I've found out that we have a subscription, I just need the license disks! :)

The next problem we're facing is log on to use the subscription services online (tutorials etc)...
