conortist Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I'm looking to insert ttf font files into a drawing and set them as default but I'm unsure on where to put them. (AutoCAD 2009). Quote
ReMark Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Look under Tools > Options on the Files tab. Then check your Working support file search path. There should be a listing for Fonts. Quote
conortist Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 yep, found that, but the list is read only. What do I do then? Quote
ReMark Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 You do not have access to your own font folder? Ask the IT department to place the TTF fonts there for you. Quote
conortist Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 I can get throught to that specific folder externally via Program Files, AutoCAD, Fonts and I've tried just pasting them in there but it doesn't work. Accessing the fonts folder the way you have said I am unable to use any of the options which should be available to me such as browse/add/remove etc. It says they're read only. Is it not possible to import new fonts onto my system? Quote
ReMark Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Are you connected to a network? What OS are you using? Quote
conortist Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 I am on my work network computer but it's a stand alone AutoCad license. It's Windows XP 2002 2.13 GHz, 2.98 GB of RAM. Quote
ReMark Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 You probably do not have Administrator rights on your computer therefore you can only view the contents of the folder. Get someone from IT to assist you. Quote

Truetype fonts need to be installed into Windows, not just added to the support file search path. http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS42355 Quote
