gamer0080 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I was wondering if anyone here could help me solve this problem i'm having in 3ds. Whenever i draw an object it is always formed with the cross-section as an edge, so the faces are triangles instead of squares. If you know of any way to fix this and set it back to default it'd be great. I attached a picture of the problem, in-case you were confused by my explanation. Quote
Cad64 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Well, you got me stumped. How and when did this start happening? I can tell you how to force those edges to show, after creating an object, by going into the objects properties and deselect "Edges Only". But I don't know how you get it to do that by default. Be sure to come back and let us know if you figure out what's causing this. Quote
minks Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 you need to switch off ''Display All Triangle Edges'' you'll find it in Direct3d setup dialog. Customize menu > Preferences > Preference Settings dialog > Viewports tab > Display Drivers group > Configure Driver button if you come across similar problem, anything that differs form the initial setup and you don't know how to bring it back, fastest way is to delete all three .ini files in the 3d studio root folder, start max and everything will be back to normal. cheers Quote
zadnytsa Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Also if you convert the object to an editable poly it wont have triangle only square polys. (editable meshes however have the triangles) Quote
