chaselund Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Ive been looking at getting a new laptop to run my ACAD 2008, and my 3DS Max. When of my friends suggested to get a mac. I believe that none of the autodesk products will run on a mac. But do to the fact that you can run windows and other windows software via the "bootcamp" program apple provides, I was wondering if anybody has tried this before with autodesk software and how well it works. most of the macs run extremely better than other computers and are alot more reliable. thanks, Quote
manhattan Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 im not too familiar with bootcamp, is it an emulator or just a method of booting windows? if it is an emulator then i would suggest its a very bad idea to go down this path since you will essentially have both OSX and windows running at the same time. Surely this would be a huge waste of system resources which are so very valuable in most 2d and 3d packages. Additionally i dont see why you would bother using a computer which is not designed to run windows to run a program which requires this particular OS. Whilst i do agree macs utilise their resources very efficiently windows is simply not coded to run in the same way OSX is, therefore it simply cannot be the best tool for the job. In a ideal system hardware and software perform harmonically Quote
