I am looking to learn Inventor, but the problem is, I'm not a student at any college. Where can I get a student edition for self learning. I have used inventor several years ago, but now I would like to expand my learning experiance.

I think you would only qualify for the 30-day trial version. I hope you are a fast learner.

I see you are in Scotland and I'm across the pond. In my home state we have a series of what are called "Community Colleges". These rank below the large state university (UCONN) and also below the mid-tier colleges like Central Connecticut State College. What's nice is they are relatively cheap by comparison. When I last attended a community college the school was offering a mechanical CAD drafting course using Inventor. Students could purchase 1 year licenses at vastly reduced prices or could opt to use the computer lab where the same software was available at no additional cost. The course cost less than $400 (U.S.). Does anything like this exist in Glascow?

Sneak back into grade school where kids as young as 11 are learning Inventor. Look at this:

Hello Mark,
There is something similar to what you have described. I contacted my local college to discuss an Inventor course, but they only do Solidworks. There is an open learning course available at motherwell college. This is where I done my CADD course. but it is 50miles from where I live and we dont have long straight roads like you do over the pond =).
I might give my old lecturer a phone and try to "brass" it.
