Polly Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I'd like merge 2 CAD files into one, but I didn't see any command for that purpose. Does anyone know how to do it? Please help!! Thank you very much. Quote
ReMark Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 AutoCAD does not have a Merge command. Why not insert one drawing into the other then do a "save as" and give the file a new name. Thus, you do not destroy one of the two drawing files should you have a change of heart. Quote
Polly Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 ReMark, thank you. Sorry I forgot to mention that both files have paper space and quite a few tabs in it. I don't think insert the other file will work because I try and it will bring the model space in, not paper space unless I did something wrong without knowing it. Quote
ReMark Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 It's always wise to give all the information that pertains to the subject up front. Have you tried inserting your layout using DesignCenter? The topic should be covered in AutoCAD Help under the heading Layouts, inserting from Design Center. AutoCAD says... "Using DesignCenter™, you can drag a layout with its objects from any drawing into the current drawing." Quote
Polly Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 Nope. I just tried it and it worked. thank you so much. Quote
