sparklerach Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Hi All, As well as drawings, we produce product manuals in Word. These are made up of text, photos and drawings. From Autocad we produce a wmf file and insert this as a link in the Word doc. If the drawing is changed, we updated the wmf file, open the word doc and update the link. This can be a problem, as the manual is often forgotten about. My question is that we are looking into getting a Document management system and are hoping there is some way of automating this procedure. Do any of you have an experience with drawings within word and how do you keep then up to date. Thanks Quote
rkmcswain Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 So is your "link", a link to a WMF file on disk? If so, then there really is no link to the actual DWG file, right? Quote
sparklerach Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 That's correct. The link is to the wmf file. Quote
