Pretender Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, and relatively new to AutoCAD. I work as a Document Controller, and I don't design documents in AutoCAD, I just have to open/convert/print AutoCAD files occasionally. My problem is that sometimes when I open an AutoCAD file, the text in the textboxes exceed their limits (the text runs out of the drawing). I have been told that the problem lies in AutoCAD not recognising the font used in the drawing, and it picks another font, which is bigger. There is also supposed to be a solution to this problem, but untill now I have not been able to find it. Does anyone here have any tips for me? Quote
Tiger Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Does this happen on all drawings? Is it drawings that are done by someone else (another company)? If it somone elses drawings, you need to get your hands on the font they use. If it's some drawings, well... depends.... you are probably missing a font that exist on some computers in your office. THe fonts are saved in a file in this location C:\Program Files\AutoCAD \Fonts uhm...dunno if this helps ... Quote
Pretender Posted March 13, 2009 Author Posted March 13, 2009 That's a good tip! Thanks! At the computer of a collegue the drawings display "normal". I will copy the contents of his fonts folder to my pc. I'll keep you posted! Quote
Pretender Posted March 13, 2009 Author Posted March 13, 2009 It worked! I've copied several AutoCAD fonts from the server, and now the texts are okay! Thanks again for this tip! Quote
