Somehow i have managed to adjust settings which have made polylines enormously wide. This doesn't effect lines or arcs or anything else, just the polyline. I have checked the line weight and it's set to 0.25 so i cannot figure out what else could have caused this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

It sounds like the polyline has a width assigned to it.

To find out, select the polyline, and check its Properties in the Properties Dialogue Box

Linetype is set to 0.5, lineweight is 0.25, thickness is 0. It was fine up until just now.

Has a lineweight been assigned to the layer that you're working on in the Layer Properties Manager?

It seems to have something to do with the geometry - start and end segment width. It lets me change the properties of a polyline once i've drawn it, but new ones are super wide again. How on earth have i changed these settings without meaning to and how can i change them back? Also what should they be as standard? Thanks.

Maybe you ran a lisp routine that changed the settings.

To change polyline width just start the command and then type "W" for width and input the beginning and end widths (usually the same).

That's done the trick. Thank you very much!

The "standard" is what you say it is unless you are working in a discipline that has recommended industry standards you are required to use.

Have you considered assigning line widths in the LPM instead of on a case-by-case basis?

You're entirely welcomed simmons. Glad to be of service. :)
