how to check area in sm

I am drawing in mm unit. I have drawn a pline around an area, and then click the pline, typed list, it shown: area 17465729

How can I read the area in square meter rather than in square mm

Divide area by 1,000,000 (one million)

..which is 1000 x 1000. So just move the decimal 6 places to the left.

I remember that there should be a way to setup something in the unit and read square meter directly in the list.

If you draw in meters then you see the area in square meters.

For other dimensions (but I doubt that it would work with areas) you can set the Dimension Style to convert it from millimeters to meters directly.
