I received a dwg and thougHt it was in metric units when in fact it was in imperial units. I went to the edit drawing settings dialogue box and i was able to change the units from feet to metres. Now when I look at my alignment chainages instead of saying 0+20 it says 0 +65.62. It understands that 65.62' = 20m but it doesn't say 20 m instead of the 65.62'. It's like it converts the 20m to feet. I want to change this. HELP??!

Open the original dwg and export the civil 3d stuff to landxml. Import it into a new dwg in the other units and it should convert the units. Perform a Map query to bring in the non-civil 3d stuff and it will take care of the conversion for you.

All you did was change the units of the drawing... all the program see is that is 20 units or 65.62 units... the whole drawing needs scaled... it doesnt care if the units are meters or light years....

I almost said that too, but I would be very afraid to scale down a group of civil 3d objects.

In terms of exporting the dwg to landxml when I click export to landxml nothing happens. Do I click on the C3D items I want to convert when exporting? I'm kind of a newbie to this all.

I did it! Successfully export and import the drawing so now the chainages are correct but I don't see my profiles or any other aspect of my dwg other than the surface and alignments. In terms of the profiles do I have to create them again or was it exported and imported over and I just need to bring them up?
