Template not appearing

The problem I am experiancing is when trying to insert a template border into a layout it does not appear on the layout although the template does appear in the preview window when selected. Any help greatly recieved.

Zoom extents. If that is not it, check the layer it was inserted on to make sure it is on.

Already tried zoom extents and all of the layers are turned on.

In the template border file, where are the entities drawn - model or paper space ?

They are drawn in model space

Ok then, how are you trying to insert the template border ?

I am using the insert new layout command, when you asked if the layout is drawn in model space or paper space I assumed it is in model because if I try to open the template file it appears in model space.

when you have seemingly inserted it, if you do a Ctrl+A (select all) does it actually get selected? Or is it just not there?

If you are trying to insert new layout from the template file (which has the template in model space) it will not appear on a paper space layout.

You will need to create a new layout, then use the INSERT command.

This will then insert your template border as a block.
